Salesforce’s annual Dreamforce conference kicked off on September 12, an event that’s always a highlight of the B2B technology calendar. Let’s recap what happened on day 1 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
Salesforce co-CEO Marc Benioff kicked-off the event with his traditional opening keynote that touched upon multiple themes.
The focus of his keynote was AI technology and using it to enhance the user experience, while maintaining an unrelenting commitment to privacy and security. He emphasized that Salesforce was focused on protecting the data in AI apps ad services, rather than exploiting it for profit. He also spoke of the Einstein Trust Layer that will keep data protected from LLMs and other platforms without impacting how Salesforce can help its customers.
Salesforce launched Einstein 1, a supercharged AI platform that brings together data from all your various platforms to create intelligent and useful suggestions. Einstein 1 can bring together data from Slack, Tableau and Mulesoft, and can also integrate with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.
They also released Einstein Copilot and Einstein Copilot Studio, which allows users to build their own prompts and models using data from across the Salesforce platform and app suite. Einstein Copilot is integrated directly within Salesforce which allows it to utilize company data, while the in-built Studio platform allows users to create and customize their own apps and services.
It was an exciting Day 1 with Salesforce promising that everyone can “be Einstein”!
The launches in the Salesforce platform that we witnessed today represents an important strategic step that is based on a significant organic investment in its own technology. We see this as the biggest evolution of the platform in the past decade, with big implications for Salesforce users.
